More Shoes!

For the one Halloween party I was able to go to this year, I dressed up as a pin-up girl. My camera is down and out, so I didn't get any pictures. :( When I get a new camera, I'll dress up again, just so I can post a picture. I looked good. Patrick was in heaven. I had a navy dress with white polka dots, red wedged heels, pearl necklace and earrings, and I watched a ton of YouTube videos on how to do pin-up style hair, so I rolled my bangs, pinned up the sides of my hair, and curled it all. It took forever, but it paid off! Everyone said I looked fabulous. Oh, and let's not forget the eyeliner with wings and the beautiful red lipstick. :)

So, now that Patrick has seen that I can pull off the pin-up look really well, I'm going to have to start adding this style to my wardrobe. I don't know about you, but I think SHOES are a fabulous place to start!!!

Patrick says I need these shoes.

I'd be okay with that. :)

I really like these too:

I love the polka dots and the height of the heel on this shoe:

This is an awesome shoe. I could buy this shoe in about 5 different colors or patterns!

I liked this shoe, although it looks a little puffy. :)

And last but not least, Patrick likes these. I think they're awesome!

So, someday when I have a ton of excess money laying around, I'll buy a bunch of super sexy shoes that could be used in a more pin-upy wardrobe. :)

Such Sexy Shoes

I am totally loving these shoes. I've been on a sexy shoe kick lately, and Patrick is a huge fan of Mary Janes. So...when I see a Mary Jane style shoe with some pizazz, I'm quite naturally excited.

These shoes would look fabulous on me.

shopping, weight, and drivers licenses

Patrick and I went shopping a couple days ago. He got some new jeans and shoes, and I got 2 pairs of shoes, these capris, a work shirt, and a sexy skirt. Patrick says my wardrobe is pathetic, so I had him "help" me pick out some things. I don't know if I really like these capris a whole lot, but he said they looked good. I typically don't wear pants, shorts, etc. with the waist at my actual waistline. I feel like a granny. These have that high waistline. Patrick says I'm weird and that the high waistline looks good. Does he realize I have a belly?!?! Oh, boys. I'm sure I'm just being my normal self-conscious self.

I finally got my new Drivers License today. We got married in December, and just now (7 months later) got my license renewed. I probably would have put it off even longer if it hadn't expired on July 14th. :)

I took a good dose of extra time getting ready, because I wanted to look really nice in my picture. When it came down to picture time, I didn't really smile for some reason. When the picture popped up on the screen, I said, "Oh! I have such a chubby face!" (sad tone of voice) The guy taking the picture said, "What??" And I repeated myself. How sad to have a chubby, non-smiling picture on a license I'll be carrying around for awhile. (can you tell I'm having a fat day??)

So, I decided that when I hit my target weight, I'll go in and get a new license...with a new weight...and a new cute picture. And I'll also be able to fit into a super hot vintage leather jacket Patrick picked out for me at D.I.

Check out the cool details! There are two front pockets on both sides.
There is a 1973 penny in one pocket, and the missing button in another pocket.
Too fun.

Anyway, that's the fun we've been up to lately. I'm posting pictures of Patrick's hot rod on our family blog, Family Life if you want to read about that.

Big Girl Panties

I just love love love this magnet I found at Felicity Gift Wrap at the Gateway Mall in SLC. The store has so many cute things. Among their new products are magnets by this artist (sorry, don't know her name) that are so clever and so "girl power" without being syrupy pink. I love this one...it makes me laugh.

How Could I Forget????

Last week I stopped by Heindselman's in Provo, UT and fell in LOVE with the store! They have all kinds of great craft supplies. I went there looking for Sublime Stitching patterns and found a few of them there. I'm excited to see what I can come up with using these new treasures! I found the cutest little embroidery needle holder...a wooden vile, painted black, with a floral design carved into it. It is so dang cute. A completely unnecessary, yet oh-so wonderful purchase. I also picked out a handful of Anchor brand embroidery floss. The ladies at Heidselman's were so cute...they were working on their current knitting projects when I came into the store. And they were so helpful. I accidentally left the embroidery needle holder on the counter, and without even calling, they sent it in the mail to me!!! The customer service there is superb! I'm not in Provo often, but when I am, I'll be sure to stop by. And when I'm not, they have a 1-800 number to call to order products...and they'll mail it to me in Salt Lake City. I love this place. I just wish their website was a little more helpful, but that's okay. I'll just call the cute little old ladies and chat with them. :)

I'll post pictures of my treasures when I find my camera.

Idea for my sewing book/bag!!!

I think I've found some good inspiration for a sewing book/bag!!! I found it on my daily email from Craftzine.com. (I love that daily email!!!) It's made by Elsie Marley

Tomorrow I plan to go to my local D.I. (Deseret Industries) to find a sweet old book that I can transform into a little case for my sewing supplies. I think I want a separate book for patterns, iron-on-transfers, and other things I cut out of my tissue boxes, calendars, etc. that inspire me. I can't wait to start working on this.

And I need to make a pleated purse to post on here too...Betty Ninja has motivated me. :) And there's no better time for a new purse than Spring, right?!?!

Oh! I starting working on a new little embroidery of a lotus flower, inspired by the last box of Yogi Tea that I bought. I swear, there are so many cute designs right now on clothing, packaging, etc. I'm loving it.

New Printer!!!

I'm so excited...I finally bought a printer! I know it's not the most exciting news in the world, but I'm pretty stoked, nonetheless. It's a wireless Lexmark X4580. Sending a job to print from the couch is pretty cool! :) And now I can finally print Barnes & Noble coupons!

I missed having a printer!
